You Can Be Anything

Title card for You Can Be Anything!.

You Can Be Anything! is 2002 direct-to-video Barney Home Video that was released on January 29, 2002.

Plot[]

Stephen, Kim, Emily and Robert each pretend to be a pilot, librarian, firefighter and a doctor respectively in the treehouse. Eventually BJ joins in the fun and declares that he likes pretending to be a grown-up too, although he's not sure exactly what he wants to be when he grows up. Seeing that everyone wants to pretend to be a grown-up for the day, Barney takes everyone to his costume shop, a place where anyone can be what they imagine. BJ decides to be a mail carrier for the day and scurries off to deliver some mail. Robert eventually finds a farmer's outfit. Looking in the mirror, the gang is transported to a farm where Robert plants some vegetables (right after BJ delivers a package of seeds for him). Re-entering Barney's costume shop, the children find band instruments left by Barney and decide to pretend to be in a band. As everyone looks at more costumes afterwards, Kim decides to pretend to be a veterinarian. Looking in the mirror, the gang is transported to a veterinarian's office where Kim cares for a few patients. Eventually, Scooter McNutty and Miss Etta Kette stop by the office due to Scooter sneezing. Unable to keep his sneeze to himself, Kim presents Scooter with a box of tissues, delivered by BJ and instructs Scooter on how to get better due to his cold. Re-entering Barney's costume shop, the kids find themselves in "Barney's Super-Dee-Duper Spotlight Show", becoming anything they imagine. As everyone looks at more costumes afterwards, Emily decides to be an astronaut. Looking in the mirror, everyone is transported in a spaceship flying through space. As Emily looks at the stars, she wishes that one of those stars was her very own. BJ eventually enters to deliver Emily her very own star (which was from Barney). After the trip, Robert becomes hungry. Coming out in a chef's outfit, Barney delivers the children macaroni and cheese. Looking more at costumes within the shop, Stephen decides that he'd like to pretend to sing and play music in a band, more specifically a rock and roll band. Looking in the mirror, wearing his rock and roll outfit, the gang is eventually transported to a stage. Stephen eventually notices that he doesn't have a guitar, but is eventually brought one by BJ. With Stephen now having a guitar, and Barney on drums, everyone has fun rocking out on stage. Coming back into the treehouse, everyone becomes excited to eventually become the things they pretended to be during the day. BJ eventually scurries off to tell his sister Baby Bop about his time as a mail carrier during the day. The children eventually wonder as to what Barney's favorite job was during the day, prompting Barney to respond that being their friend, any day, was his favorite job.
