Thehappywanderer

The Happy Wanderer is a children's song written and composed by Friedrich-Wilhelm Möller and translated by Antonia Ridge. In the Barney franchise, this song was rewritten slightly (probably by Philip Parker) for its appearances in Campfire Sing-Along and Going Places!.

Lyrics

I love to go a-wandering
Along the mountain track
And as I go, I love to sing,
My knapsack on my back
Barn-a-ri, Barn-a-mi
Barn-a-ri, Barn-a-ra-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha
Barn-a-ri, Barn-a-mi
My knapsack on my back
I wave my hat to all I meet
And they wave back to me
And blackbirds call so loud and sweet
From every greenwood tree
Barn-a-ri, Barn-a-mi
Barn-a-ri, Barn-a-ra-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha
Barn-a-ri, Barn-a-mi
My knapsack on my back

Additional Lyrics

In "Going Places!", there is an additional verse, which goes as follows:

Oh Barney walks along with us
We play and we pretend
He drove us here in a great big bus
We hike back with our friend

This verse also appears on the track of the song in Barney's Favorites Vol. 2
