Production[]
Development[]
Development of Let's Make Music began in 2005. The crew of Barney & Friends approached series writer Cheryl Ammeter to inquire if she would write a home video that would take place at a fair. This video was originally titled Barney's Fantastic Fun-Fair. While continuing to be written during production, it was re-titled to Trying On Dreams before finally being titled to Let's Make Music. The video was considered to be a movie during development, but it was eventually decided to stay as a Barney Home Video. Let's Make Music originally focused on a boy named Miles, however the crew decided that the main character should be a girl rather than a boy, who eventually became Melanie. Initially in the script, Baby Bop was afraid to ride a roller coaster, however, given that the crew couldn't get a roller coaster on set, it was switched to become a ferris wheel.
Writing[]
Around this time, Carter Crocker became the head writer for Barney & Friends. During rewrites for the video, Ammeter would share ideas with Crocker and vice-versa, further going back and forth with ideas.[2] Ammeter suggested that Carter be credited given the amount of support he gave to Ammeter when writing the script.
Filming[]
Filming for Let's Make Music occurred in October 2005 at Frisco Commons Park in Frisco, Texas and Bob Woodruff Park in Plano, Texas, marking another Barney video to filmed on location.
Music and Soundtrack[]
Main Article: Vamos Fazer Música
Vamos Fazer Música is a Brazilian Portuguese soundtrack with songs from the home video Let's Make Music with additional songs added. The album was released in 2010 by ST2 Music and HIT Entertainment, and was the final Barney album to be released under the Barney Music label.

This was the only new home video to be released in 2006, though it was actually produced and filmed the previous year). The DVD menu of Let's Make Music includes various scenes of Barney, BJ, Riff and Baby Bop interacting within various sets at the fair. Unlike the home video itself, Barney during the DVD Menus is portrayed by Josh Martin in costume. The DVD included the bonus features "Welcome, Cousin Riff", "BJ's Elephant Adventure", and "Barney's Big Balloon", with the latter featurette containing Martin as the suit performer of Barney.
Let's Make Music was also included in 3-Movie Pack which was released on October 15, 2013. The set also contained the videos The Land of Make Believe and Barney's Night Before Christmas.
