Dino-Mite Birthday is a 2007 direct-to-video Birthday themed Barney Home Video clip show that was released on DVD on September 11, 2007. It features scenes from the eighth-tenth seasons of Barney & Friends. Written and directed by Fred Holmes, this is the only Barney Home Video to have new content written and directed by the same person. The video was meant to kickoff the twentieth anniversary of Barney,[1] though not directly being a video to commemorate the anniversary, as that would later be saved for The Best of Barney.

To promote and coincide with the video, Barney embarked on a twenty-city nationwide tour in the US. The tour, titled Barney's Big Purple Bus Tour, toured in North America from September 2007 to March 2008. During the year that the tour ended, a live show titled Barney's Dino-Mite Birthday! - Live On Stage performed in Manila in November through December of 2008.
Release[]
Dino-Mite Birthday was available for pre-order on August 15, 2007. The video was officially released on DVD on September 11, 2007 by HIT Entertainment and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, at a suggested retail price of $14.98.[2] It was later released on DVD in the United Kingdom on April 14, 2008 through HIT Entertainment. Trivia[]
- This video marked:
- The fourth video to feature Barney's birthday party on the show, the first three being "Happy Birthday, Barney!", "It's Your Birthday, Barney!", and "Caring".
- The first appearance of the season 11 Barney costume.
- Another time wherein a painting of a kid character is seen with his or her name signed (a rainbow that Tracy painted was one of Barney's gifts).
- Another time Barney does not turn back into a doll.
- Another time where no one says "goodbye" at the end.
- The first video since Barney Songs from the Park to be a clip show.
- It was revealed that Barney's favorite cake is pistachio.
- Coincidentally, the season eleven premiere episode "Pistachio" mainly focuses on Barney's addiction to pistachios and how he can't stop eating them until learning a valuable lesson from his friends.
- Two photos from the shooting for the episode "That's What a Mommy Is", can be seen in Ryan's scrapbook, which indicates that this video takes place after that episode was produced.
- Reused stock footage of Baby Bop dancing in a ballet studio amongst other children from Come on Over to Barney's House is used for this video.
- Dino-Mite Birthday is the only DVD and video to contain all four dinos (Barney, BJ, Riff and Baby Bop) on the front cover.
