• Mattel, former licensee of Barney toys, has officially announced that they're buying HIT Entertainment. The deal will be completed in the first quarter of 2012. The sale doesn't include HIT's share of PBS Kids Sprout.
• Classic Imports, Concept One, Bio World and a number of other companies are going to release Barney merchandise for all fans (kids, teens and adults). Barney products from some of these companies are available at Spencer's Gifts, Wal-Mart, and FYE, among other stores.
• Barney Movie Pack will be released on February 21, 2012. The set will contain Barney's Jungle Friends, Let's Go on Vacation, and Animal ABC's
• Clean Up, Clean Up!, a Barney Clip Show, will be released on March 6, 2012
• Techno Source has become the toy company for the Barney franchise. The new line, coming in Spring to Canada and the United States, will include plush, figures, and play sets.
